 Greetings from the Deitricks’ Alpaca Ranch! We are located in scenic Prophetstown, Illinois on a little 50 acre farm surrounded by good corn, hay and bean country.
Our ranch is currently home to 72 Huacaya alpacas and growing! We continue to strive to build a happy, healthy herd of show quality alpacas with our emphasis on fiber excellence and color diversity.
The rare and exotic alpaca is a creature of antiquity that is rapidly gaining popularity around the world and has already captured our hearts. Alpacas are raised for their beautiful fleece and produce one of the finest fibers in the world, as soft as cashmere and warmer and lighter weight than wool. Alpacas are highly prized for their luxurious coats.
We invite you to visit our ranch to experience the “alpaca lifestyle” firsthand, meet these gentle creatures, marvel at their childlike curiousity and browse through our ranch store to see the beautiful yarn, rovings and products made from our ranch raised friends!
